Life Guide: Finding Comfort in the Chaos

Life Guide

Finding comfort in chaos doesn’t really sound like a very easy thing to do, does it?

People all around the world lost their lives leaving their loved ones emotionally weak and scared. Right?

This pandemic has taken a toll on us all, irrespective of age and gender. Domestic abuse has increased recently and so is unreported rapes.

We even see so many breakups all around the globe. People are taking their time to adapt to this new world where social life is not as easy as before and the infectious corona is always right around the corner!

There’s so much unemployment lately! Some even predict that almost half the world is in financial trouble and with these surging unemployment rates it’s hard not to worry about the crimes that might happen because of this.

How do we find a way to appreciate this life when every turn we take seems like a dead end?

Let’s see How to Find Comfort in Chaos

So to get a certain degree of comfort in life, one needs things to go in their way or atleast they need something to look forward to. Right?

A motion in the right direction. The ability to see the light at the end of the tunnel is what you need to be able to feel comfortable.

Importance of Acceptance

While this article will contain alot of points on how to shift your focus when things get too hard and focus on building and growing, the first step we need to take is accepting the situation in front of us.

We lost family, friends, dear ones, our jobs, our houses and livelihood because of this pandemic. Humans have suffered incredible losses in this past year and we need to grieve, process and the accept our new reality first to move forwards towards better things.

Basically we shouldn’t live in denial. No matter what kind of problem or situation we are in, we first need to be honest with ourselves. Always!

If you have problems focusing for your exams or if you are addicted to something, there’s no point in living in denial of that fact. Acceptance is the first step.

Take It Easy: Take a Break

Whether your grades are falling or if you are having social issues or a mid life crisis, remember, things will change.

Being too hard on ourselves can take a roll on us mentally and emotionally.

Like the popular quote goes, “When things get hard, don’t quit, take a break”

“We can learn more from a hour of silence than in days of action”.

When we are physically tired we remember to take rest but a lot of us don’t acknowledge and remember to rest when we are mentally and emotionally stressed or burnt up.

Makes sense right? Momentary defeat doesn’t mean  you are not capable. It just means you are not prepared enough!

Re-Evaluate All Goals

Goals can make us hopeful and sometimes haunt us if things don’t go the way we planned.

Many students prepared for GRE, IELTS, SAT, TOEFL and ultimately found them all postponed and sudden mind change from parents makes them feel like the study abroad dream slipped away!

The Olympics were postponed!

So yeah. We live in a world of uncertainties and it’s very essential that we re-evaluate the old times or to brainstorm about new possibilities that this new situation has brought to us!

Makes sense right? Look for opportunities as well. Students can consider this pandemic as a good thing because they inevitably get more time to work on their own personal dreams and goals!

Find Value in Small Things

Small things matter is something that we have heard from time to time and yet not everyone realizes it.

It all comes down to appreciating life as it is. Right?

We don’t find spending time with parents the valuable until we lose them. We kind of wish for certain things to stay the same but they probably won’t. Change is inevitable. So appreciate and enjoy everything that you have today! You might not have it later.

Remember that.

Find Your Focus

Once you have your new goals written in, the next step is to implement them. Walk towards the goal!

Finding your focus is key to succeeding in anything. It’s all about mindset. Once you set your mind or better train your mind to focus when needed, you are set for life!

Make Time for People

Despite what the government says, it is important that we have one or two friends that we interact with often.

Let’s face it: friends are very important for a healthy mind. And you will feel way happier in the day even if it’s an awful day when friends are around.

Human brain is designed and made for social connection and bonding. Going against nature can be quite hard!

So make time for people. While you work for the future it is important that you enjoy the present moment as well!

Explore the World of Internet

There are still a lot of bad opinions about the internet and it’s usage by teenagers and students all over the world.

Let’s be honest. The Digital World has actually become addictive. But alot of us only spend most of our time in a few areas of the internet like social media and youtube but there’s so much more in the internet that could blow our minds!

From online courses to learn a skill to building a strong resume with online internships to endless certifications to researching and understanding anything that we are curious about, the possibilities are endless.

You can become literally anyone you want with the internet! You can live anywhere! Travel to far ends of this world and experience things that were impossible to any humans 100 years ago.

Of course with the pandemic there are a lot of restrictions but still, the power of the internet is too much and if we only have some discipline, life can be literally anything we want it to be!
